Hi, my name is Yogi and I’m the Picky Vegan. Why picky, you ask? Well, it makes me happy you don’t ask why vegan. 🙂 I am picky because there are lots of foods I don’t like. Actually not just food. But let’s talk about food for now.

I decided to change my diet couple of years ago and never looked back. Actually I take time to reflect and compare my well-being now and then and it is beyond compare. Can’t think of a reason to go back to my previous lifestyle. I’ve lost about 20kg (44 pounds approx.) and keep going. My blood work has never been so good, cholesterol levels around 130 and my overall state is amazing!

This decision came to me after “Forks Over Knives” movie my wife and I watched in late October 2016. I decided to reduce the amount of animal source food intake to one meal a week so it’ll be about 5% of my overall consumption. My weight at that point was at its highest point around 97kg (214 pounds approx.). In the first 2 months I lost about 15kg and felt amazing! Somewhere in early March 2017 my wife asked me when was the last time I ate meat and to my own surprise I remembered that it was somewhere in mid January. Then I realized that I ate fish not much later than meat and except for eggs – my diet was fully plant based. So Julia (my wife) suggested to stop eating eggs as well and to become a fully vegan. So I did.
